Biography

As a Partner of Stofft Cooney Architects in Naples, Florida, John Cooney has accumulated a reputation for exemplary, award winning architecture that’s best described as a sophisticated blend of form and vision, style and structure. Growing up in New York, John’s sense of design began to develop as he was exposed to many different types and styles of architecture. He attended and graduated from the School of Architecture and Environmental Design of Kent State University, located in Kent, Ohio. John Cooney’s designs specialize in creating a timeless home that compliments one’s lifestyle. Stofft Cooney Architects’ pride themselves on the wide array of projects ranging from intimate residences to substantial estates with a scope of work that encompasses all genres to reveal influences from the most emulated, diverse styles throughout history. These styles include Palladian, Mediterranean, Craftsman, Modern & Contemporary, Classical Tropical and “Old Florida Revisionist”.
